Kilrush arrived into Wexford Park for this Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Rackard League Roinn C camogie final in top form, sweeping aside the Ramsgrange challenge with a relentless deluge of top notch scores over the course of the hour.

From the off, the Kilrush girls were tenacious all over the pitch and centre forward Naoise Hennessy was the most fortunate of all to benefit from this rabid team work when she rattled in four first half goals. A pair of points from the speedy Lorna Fortune and a Abbie Walsh free gave Kilrush a very commanding fifteen point halftime lead. It was frustrating for the hard working defensive team of Amy Molloy, Roisín Lyons, Bríd Walsh and Aoife Connolly to do so much good work but still see the Kilrush forwards slip through. Kilrush defenders Karen Tomkins and Abbie Walsh formed an barrier in front of their goal that Ramsgrange found hard to get by.

Normally such a lead tempts the dominant team to dip their performance a little but these Kilrush girls did not let up. Within minutes of the resumption, they had two second half goals through Emma Tomkins and Zoe Tobin-Cosgrove. Ramsgrange got the score that their brave efforts deserved when Ella Dalton blasted home and were in fact, unlucky not to get a quick second when the same player set up Ciaradh Connolly with a lovely ball across the goal. Kilrush goalie Kate Butler did a great job to ensure that the minimum got past her.

Up the field, Kilrush continued to show no mercy when they responded with two more goals through Rachel Kavanagh and Lorna Fortune. Well taken points by Lorna Fortune and Emma Tomkins put the cherry on the top of a remarkable team performance worthy of a team graduating to the top flight next year after this success.
